Emergency Services Called To Vehicle Over Cliff In Freshwater

Emergency services have been called to reports of a vehicle of the cliff at Freshwater.

Police and coastguard teams have been called to the incident this afternoon (Wednesday).

Hampshire Constabulary says it received reports of a van in the water off Military Road just before 10.30am.

A spokesperson for HM Coastguard said:

"At just before midday today (10th February), HM Coastguard Rescue Teams from Ventnor and Needles were sent to an incident at Freshwater Bay, Isle of Wight. Hampshire Police are also in attendance.

"We have no further information at this time."

Yarmouth RNLI has also been called to the incident.

Emergency services, including Needles and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue teams, remain on scene.
