Emergency service teams are attending Ryde seafront this evening (Monday) following reports that a car collided with a child.
Ambulance and police were called at around 7pm.
An Isle of Wight Radio listener said part of The Esplanade has been shut as a result of the incident, with motorists advised to find alternate routes.
