Family-run business, Elite Garages, has opened at the site of Newport's former ATS Euromaster.
The business, which has been in operation for over 60 years, is run by three generations of the family. Newport is their 16th vehicle repair centre.
The building, on South Street, has sat empty since ATS closed after the first COVID lockdown.
Richard Whittemore, Managing Director, said:
“We pride ourselves in being a local garage who deliver the personal touch you would expect from a family business. The whole team has worked so hard to get our Newport site ready for opening.
"Our Isle of Wight customers can expect competitive prices and a friendly, trustworthy service from our highly experienced team.”
The Elite Garages Newport branch is overseen by Area Manager Mark Stevens, who already manages branches in Portsmouth, Brighton and Pulborough.
Mark said:
“We’re excited to be opening in the Isle of Wight. The great location in Newport means it’s easy to leave your vehicle with us, or you can enjoy our free customer WiFi whilst waiting for your vehicle.
"We have brand new, state-of-the-art equipment in our workshop and a spacious, modern waiting room for our customers."
Mark’s team includes skilled vehicle technicians and MOT testers Pete, Jason, Shane, James and Sam.
Pete Hayward, manager, who has lived on the Isle of Wight for over 30 years, is excited to be managing the new site.

“We’re looking forward to meeting lots of new customers and providing the Elite service on the Isle of Wight! We offer a great range of services and vehicle repairs, servicing all makes and models. We also have a fantastic team with a combined experience of over 100 years.”
