Dave Grohl The Latest Superstar To Pay Homage To Isle Of Wight's Wet Leg

A legendary rock musician has paid homage to Isle of Wight band Wet Leg.

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was speaking as part of the Guardian's On My Radar column at the weekend.

Sharing his thoughts on the band, fronted by Hester Chambers and Rhian Teasdale, He said:

"This [Isle of Wight] band is starting to blow up in America. A friend forwarded me their song Chaise Longue and I thought, Oh this is great. It’s fun, it’s fresh, it’s new, it’s just completely entertaining.

"Great sense of humour, great beat, great riffs, totally hooky.

"I started forwarding it to my friends, and whenever we get together for our living room dance parties, that’s the one song everyone jumps off the couch and dances to.

"There are nights when we just play that song on repeat. They make brilliant videos too — I can’t wait to see them live."

Grohl, formerly of Nirvana and Scream, is one of a litany of superstars to big up Wet Leg since debut single Chaise Longue blasted them into the national conscience on June 15 last year.

Elton John, Iggy Pop and Paramore's Hayley Williams are among the band's admirers.

Wet Leg are releasing their self-titled debut album on April 8.
