Coronavirus: Isle Of Wight Sees Lowest Daily Case Rise This Year

The Isle of Wight has recorded a new yearly low for daily coronavirus cases.

Figures released today (Monday) show one more person has tested positive.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 6,644 cases.

The Island currently has the seventh lowest case rate in the UK. At the end of last week, it was at number 12 on the list.

The Island's rolling seven-day case rate, per 100,000 population, is 28.9. The UK average is 100.4.

Since the pandemic began there have been 140 deaths at St Mary's Hospital, while 121 people have died in the community.

109 of those community deaths have come in care homes, eight at home and one at the Island's hospice.

No new deaths were registered in St Mary's Hospital today.
