Coronavirus: Isle Of Wight Rolling Case Rate Remains Below National Average

New figures show the Isle of Wight's rolling coronavirus case rate remains below the national average.

Another 26 cases of coronavirus have been recorded today (Thursday). That is marginally up on yesterday's (Wednesday's) total of 20.

The average rate of new cases on the Island, per 100,00, is slowing however.

It has fallen to 225.7 today. The UK average is 242.8 per 100,000.

The seven-day rolling rate is used to measure patterns or trends in the Government's coronavirus figures.

Of the 6,301 positive results recorded on the Island since the start of the pandemic, 4,539 came last month (January).

Since the start of the pandemic, coronavirus has been mentioned on the death certificates of 208 Islanders.

Another two people have died at St Mary's Hospital having contracted coronavirus.
