Coronavirus: Isle Of Wight Records Rise In Care Home Deaths

Another three people have died with coronavirus in the community on the Isle of Wight.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has published its weekly data this morning (Tuesday).

In the week ending February 19, one people passed away in a Island residential home.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been a total of 124 deaths in the community here.

111 of those have come in care homes and nine at home.

Since the pandemic began there has been one COVID-19 related death at the Island's hospice, one in a 'other communal setting' and two 'elsewhere' in the community.

In total, 264 people have now died on the Isle of Wight after testing positive for the illness. St Mary's Hospital has recorded 140 of those deaths.

Yesterday (Monday), the Isle of Wight saw its lowest daily rise in coronavirus cases so far this year.
