Coronavirus: Isle Of Wight Records Lowest Rise This Month (January)

The Isle of Wight has recorded another 41 cases of coronavirus - the lowest daily increase this month (January).

That number is down on yesterday's total of 89.

Figures released today (Monday) show the rate of new cases on the Island is continuing to fall however.

Of the 5,903 cases recorded on the Island since the start of the pandemic, 4,224 have come this month (January).

The Island's seven-day rolling average, per 100,00, is now at 470.5 - on Friday it stood at 611.5.

The rolling rate measures patterns or trends in the Government's coronavirus figures.

A further two coronavirus patients passed away at St Mary's Hospital, according to data released yesterday (Sunday). No deaths were recorded in today's total.

It takes the hospital's death toll since the start of the pandemic to 106.

In total, 52 people have died on the Isle of Wight this month (January).
