Coronavirus: Isle Of Wight Records Further Three Hospital Deaths

A further three coronavirus patients have passed away at St Mary's Hospital.

It takes the Isle of Wight's monthly (January) death toll, when combined with fatalities in the community, to 38.

According to figures from NHS England, the three deaths came on Monday (18).

It means there have now been 92 deaths at St Mary's, linked to the illness, since the start of the pandemic.

Separate data published earlier shows 54 people have now passed away in the community on the Island, as Isle of Wight Radio previously reported

There have now been 146 people coronavirus-related fatalities here since the start of the pandemic.

According to the latest case numbers, the rate of new cases on the Isle of Wight is falling.

The Island had the UK's fourth highest average rate just days ago - it now has the 23rd highest.

The Island's seven-day average, per 100,000, is 778.7.
