Coronavirus: Isle Of Wight Case Rate Rises Slightly - Still Below UK Average

The Isle of Wight's rolling coronavirus case rate has risen slightly - but still remains below the national average.

A further 13 positive tests have been recorded in today's (Thursday's) daily figures. That is down on yesterday's (Wednesday) total of 17.

In the past 24 hours, the Island's rolling rate has increased from 102.3 to 104.4, per 100,000 people.

It remains below the national average of 131.8 however.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 6,587 positive cases on the Isle of Wight.

In total, 252 people have now died on the Isle of Wight after testing positive for the illness. 

Earlier this week, Isle of Wight Radio revealed there had been a rise in care home deaths.

No new hospital deaths have been recorded in today's NHS England data.
