Coronavirus: Another 58 Cases Recorded On Isle Of Wight

Another 58 cases of coronavirus have been recorded on the Isle of Wight.

Today's (Wednesday's) daily figures have been published - and are down on yesterday's (Tuesday's) total of 74.

Of the 6,075 cases recorded on the Island since the pandemic began, 4,396 have come this month (January).

The Island's seven-day rolling average, per 100,00, has once again decreased to 393.6 - yesterday it was at 415.5.

The rolling rate measures patterns or trends in the Government's coronavirus figures.

According to figures from NHS England, another two people have died at the Isle of Wight's Hospital.

Since the start of the pandemic, coronavirus has been mentioned on the death certificates of 173 Islanders.

Despite the falling rate of infections, the Isle of Wight’s top NHS boss has warned we are  "still in the eye of the storm".
