Concerns For Welfare Of Missing Newport Man

A search is underway for a missing Newport man.

He was last seen around 12.45pm today (March 10) and police are extremely concerned for his welfare.

The 34-year-old is described as being white, around 6ft 3ins tall, of slim build and with short hair and stubble.

He was last seen wearing a red and blue coat, dark blue jeans, brown boots and he had a black hiking pole with him.

He also has a tattoo of a St George's Cross flag on the back of his neck and writing on his right forearm.

Police believe he will still be in the Newport area. WightSAR, the Island's volunteer search and rescue team, is also assisting with the search.

Areas of focus include The Priory, Carisbrooke, and Burnt House Lane.
