Coastguards Involved In Search For Missing Jet Skier

Needles Coastguard Rescue Team

Coastguard teams from the Isle of Wight have been involved in the search for a missing jet skier in the Solent.

Needles Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked at 5.27pm last night (Tuesday) to assist in the search for a missing jet skier from Southampton who had been separated from his brother - also on a jet ski, but who had made it to Cowes.

Cowes and both Calshot Lifeboats conducted a search of the Solent and Southampton water where they eventually found the missing jet skier under tow by a fishing vessel en route to the River Itchen.

Lymington Coastguard Rescue Team also conducted a shoreline search of Calshot, before relocating to the River Itchen to check on the welfare of the casualty.

A private RIB escorted the jet skier from the Island back to their home port.

Police were also involved.
