Christmas Single Recorded By Isle Of Wight Musicians

An Isle of Wight yuletide single more than a year in the making has been released in time for Christmas.

Clyde Rolf began composing Bells of Christmas in October 2020 and fittingly completed the track a couple of months later on Christmas day.

It was recorded and released in tandem with former Bees frontman, Tim Parkin, earlier this month — the pair collectively known as The Caulks.

Clyde said:

"I felt the urge to write a Christmas song, being a wonderful time of year, and The Bells of Christmas is what came from my heart.

"I knew it could be made into a better song than just on an acoustic guitar, with other instruments in my head to what I thought it needed."

Clyde sought out fellow Island musician, former Bees frontman Tim Parkin, and together the pair took to the studio to re-record the track.

Clyde's daughter, Sharna Mae, along with family friend Chantelle Fletcher, provided additional vocals for the song.

Rob And Jim Holmes, engineers at Newport's Empire Sound where the track was recorded, also contributed to the final cut to ensure a yuletide treat was served up in time for Christmas.

Tim said:

"I realise there is a lot of Christmas music out there, but we hear the same tunes every year, and this is something different."

Bells of Christmas is now available to download or listen to on all digital platforms.
