Brighton Glory For Isle Of Wight MMA Team

Last Saturday (March 5) saw the Isle of Wight's Brotherhood MMA travel to Brighton for two different events.

Connor Tymon, coach at the Ryde based Mixed Martial Arts centre, fought at the Victory Fights event which took place at Moulscoombe Leisure Centre.

Fellow Wrestling coach and brother, Kalon Tymon, Muay Thai coach Colin Lions and BJJ coach Andy Law were in his corner for the bout.

Connor fought a tough fighter and was dropped at the beginning of round one. However, he bounced straight back up and applied the pressure continuously until the fight was stopped at one minute and 14 seconds, with Connor winning by TKO.

Damian Kowalski celebrates his victory

Earlier in the day, Andy Law and the Jiu Jitsu team attended the BJJ Brighton Spring Open at Hilton Brighton Metropole to showcase their skills.

Brotherhood's Luke Nigh, Liam Ingram, Corey Kent, Damian Kowalski also enjoyed wins.

Andy said:

"Team members Luke Nigh, Liam Ingram, Corey Kent and Damian Kowalski came home with two gold medals and three silvers between them.

"All four of the guys put in great performances and I couldn’t be any prouder of the effort that they have put in to prepare for the competition and also how they conducted themselves on the day."

The team's next competition will take place on March 19 at Chatham in Kent when they compete in the Lion Fighting Championship.
