Body Found In Search For Missing Isle Of Wight Man Matthew Doyle

The family of Matthew Doyle, missing from Freshwater since May 25, has been informed after a body was recovered by the Yarmouth RNLI lifeboat off The Needles last night (Saturday).

The RNLI and HM Coastguard crews were tasked to assist the Isle of Wight Police in the recovery at around 5pm. 

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: 

“At this time formal identification has not taken place.

“However, the family of missing man Matthew Doyle, have been informed of this discovery.

“At this time a missing person investigation is still ongoing with regards to Matthew”.

Matthew Doyle was last seen in Totland on the evening of Monday 25.

Matthew is described as black, 5ft 6ins tall, with short black hair.
