Body Of Man In 70s Discovered At Ryde Address

A body of a man in his 70s has been discovered at a property in Ryde.

The Marine Support Unit was called to assist police in Melville Street at around 6pm on Thursday (13).

The death is not being treated as suspicious, according to police.

A file is being prepared for the Coroner.

 A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:

'The Marine Support Unit assisted Isle of Wight officers following the discovery of a body in Ryde. 

'A man in his 70s was found at an address in Melville Street at around 6pm on Thursday 13 May.

'The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the Coroner.'

 Asked why the Marine Support Unit was there, a spokesperson was unable to comment.
