Beth To Make Isle Of Wight Festival Main Stage Debut After Wight Noize Win

A teenage musician from Newport's Platform One college will make her Main Stage debut at this year's Isle of Wight Festival.

Beth Brookfield, 19, was crowned the first ever solo musician to win the Wight Noize competition — this year held at Strings Bar on Saturday (May 14).

The Wight Noize initiative was conceived by Platform One and has helped develop opportunities for young bands, artists and musicians across the Island since 1999.

Beth will appear on the Main Stage on Sunday June 19, having made her IW Festival bow on the Kashmir stage in 2021.

She was one of five Wight Noize finalists, seeing off stiff competition from a quartet of bands: Now Only, The Optimists, Greek Tragedies and Chicks.

The prolific country, folk and pop singer will prepare for her big day by performing at Newport's Jubilee Celebrations on Saturday June 4.

In addition to the festival slot, Beth will receive a release strategy session, free digital distribution, an influencer marketing campaign and a performance slot at a London-based Autumn showcase event.

More information about Platform One is available online.
