Beryl E-Scooter Riders Offered Discount To Mark COP26 Climate Summit

Beryl is offering 26% off all minute bundles for e-scooters on the Isle of Wight to mark the start of the COP26 climate summit.

The offer also comes as Beryl celebrates the one-year anniversary of the scheme on the Island.

Until November 12, the discount will be automatically applied to all minute bundles, incentivising riders to commit to using e-scooters for a sustained period.

As COP26 gets underway, this offer will enable more people to make small changes, to collectively have a bigger impact on reducing congestion and air pollution.

The introduction of the Beryl scheme on the Isle of Wight has already had an impact. So far, there have been a  total of 244,673 kilometres travelled in 67,899 journeys since launching in. The result is a modal shift from cars of 11.9%, demonstrating the positive impact the scheme is having in reducing the number of cars on the road.

COP26 is a global event - taking place in Glasgow - in which countries come together to discuss plans to tackle climate change.

Beryl CEO, Phil Ellis, said:

‘’We’re delighted to be offering riders on the Isle of Wight discounts on minute bundles for the duration of COP26.

‘’As COP26 gets underway, lots of people will be thinking about the small changes that they can make to help tackle climate change.

‘’Jumping on an e-scooter is a fantastic way of doing just that. The more people that do, the better for everyone - with reduced congestion and air pollution, and more pleasant streets.’’
