'Axle Counter Failure' Suspends Island Line Services

Island Line services have been suspended again today (Wednesday).

South Western Railway (SWR) says an axle counter failure at Smallbrook Junction is to blame.

All lines are blocked as a result.

Train services running through the station will be suspended.

Disruption is expected until 4pm.

A spokesperson for SWR said:

"We have been informed that there is an axle counter failure at Smallbrook Junction. All services are currently suspended as a result.

"For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.

"We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey."
