Arrest Made After Brick Thrown Through House Window In Newport

A man has been arrested following an incident where a brick was thrown through the window of a home in Newport.

Police were called at 9.52pm last night (Sunday) following reports of criminal damage and possession of a bladed article at an address on Whitepit Lane.

It followed an incident where a brick was thrown through a window of a property.

Police said that a man within the property ran out of the address with a bladed article and an altercation began with an unknown person.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said:

"Upon police arrival, an 18-year-old man from Newport was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place and one count of using threatening and abusive behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress."
