Appuldurcombe And Royal Yacht Squadron To Light Up Orange For National Grief Awareness Week

Two buildings on the Isle of Wight will be lit up in orange on Wednesday (8) — to mark National Grief Awareness Week.

Appuldurcombe House in Wroxall and the Royal Yacht Squadron, Cowes, will be lit up from 5.45pm to 7pm as part of a campaign by the Good Grief Trust.

Islanders are invited to come along and take part in a minute's silence at Appuldurcombe, led by Celebrant Mr Jonathan Skeet at 6pm.

Organisers ask you to bring a tealight and meet by the fountain in front of the main building. You may also like to bring a flask for a warm drink afterwards.

The car park will be open and lit from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.

In Cowes, by kind permission of the Commodore and the flag officers, the Royal Yacht Squadron will be lit up from the same time.

The lighting for both venues is kindly being supplied by NDLE Lighting.

Jenny Girvin-Baker from the Good Grief Trust said:

"On behalf of the Good Grief Trust, we are very grateful for everyone who is helping to make this event happen. We do hope you will be able to join us.

"If anyone requires any further information please private message me on Facebook: Jenny Girvin-Baker."

National Grief Awareness Week runs from 2nd-8th December.
