Appeal To Trace Teenage Girls After Man Makes Sexually Explicit Comments Outside Ryde Pub

Isle of Wight Police are trying to trace two teenage girls after reports of a man making sexually explicit comments towards them in Ryde.

It was reported to police that at around 8.55pm on Thursday May 19, the man in question approached the two girls – who were described as being around 15 or 16 years-old – outside The Crown Pub and made inappropriate and sexualised comments towards them.

Police attended, identified and spoke to a man, who was subsequently made to leave the area.

They have subsequently been making enquiries to understand the full circumstances of this incident and are trying to identify the two girls.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:

"We want to speak to (the teenage girls) about this incident and obtain an account of what took place.

"One of the girls was described as wearing a tracksuit, and the other a rain mac.

"If you know these girls, or this is you, please contact police on 101 quoting 44220198676."

Police can also be contacted online.

Anyone who has experienced this type of behaviour, or any suspicious incidents in their neighbourhood, is encouraged to contact police.
