Appeal To Find Missing Man After Jet Ski Was Found In The Solent

Police have revealed the name of a man who was last seen on a jet ski in the Solent - prompting a large scale search this week.

Elezaj Shkelzen from Oxfordshire was last seen on the craft leaving Lymington for Langstone Harbour at 6pm on Tuesday (4).

Just before 8pm on Tuesday, coastguard located the jet-ski in the water off of Stokes Bay.

A search involving Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue teams, Bembridge Lifeboat, Cowes RNLI, Yarmouth RNLI and Ryde Rescue was launched.

Gosport Independent Lifeboat, HM Coastguard helicopter, the Hillhead and Calshot RNLI Lifeboat also searched the area.

Friends and family of the 33 year old are concerned for his welfare.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said:

"We and our colleagues in the Coastguard have been making enquiries over the last few days but are now turning to you for your help.

"We appreciate the image isn't very clear, but we are hoping you will be able to help.

"Elezaj is described as wearing a light grey and white hoody, dark Adidas shorts, and a camouflage waterproof jacket. He may have had an orange life-jacket with him.

"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a jet-ski being ridden in the Solent between Milford-On-Sea and Stokes Bay.

"If you see him, or think you may have seen him since 6pm on Tuesday please call us on 101, quoting 44200293979."
