A Shanklin tea room is the latest Isle of Wight business to announce it is closing.

Grand View Tea Gardens, based next to Luccombe Manor, will not be returning for another season.

The team say staff shortages, COVID-19 and the closure of Appley Steps, leading to Shanklin beach, have caused issues.

A post on the Tea Gardens Facebook page reads:

"I'm afraid that I am unable to give the tea gardens the time it deserves anymore and I will not be returning for the 2022 season.

"I've had the most wonderful existence up there in my little spot on the cliff. After 7 seasons it's time for me to do something different.

"I'll be up there occasionally until February- I will he mostly clearing out and selling stock/bits and bobs (boot sale style!!) But I'll have the coffee machine on and some bits to make toasties!!

Indy, Alex, Orson and Max - the team behind the tea rooms - say a new venture will be starting up from February.
