Angel Passmore Awarded High Sheriff Of The Isle Of Wight Award

Island Riding Centre, High Sheriff and Angel Passmore

Angel Passmore has been awarded the High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight Award.

The Island Riding Centre (IRC) says it is 'thrilled' to announce that Angel has been recognised for her 'outstanding dedication to learning and progression in her career'.

The High Sheriff’s Awards celebrate the achievements of children and young people who have overcome adversity and become positive role models, helped their community – or maybe both!

It is hoped the awards will direct those who are vulnerable away from crime, anti-social behaviour, substance misuse or unsuitable activities.

Angel has completed her studies with the HTP Apprenticeship College and Island Riding Centre and is now a full-time groom at the IRC.

Staff say Angel has worked her socks off after she first arrived as a shy and dedicated young person - but has now blossomed into a confident and personable groom.

IRC owner, Louise Buckner said:

“We are really keen for our students to develop their skills and have a focus and goal. There are not many places on the island where this amount of equestrian opportunity happens and our passion at Island Riding Centre is to help the Island’s youth grow, gain experience and achieve great things.”

Caroline Peel, High Sheriff said:

'Great visit to the Island Riding Centre to present Angel Passmore with her High Sheriff's Award, and to have a ride on Donald, I think the first time I have ridden for 35 years, and I think it showed!'
