"A Massive Heartfelt Thank You" - Isle Of Wight's Topshop And Topman Closes Permanently

The Isle of Wight's only Topshop and Topman store has announced it is shutting permanently.

A sign posted on the door of the Newport High Street branch confirms its closure.

It reads:

"Katie, Sam and all the team here at Topshop Topman Isle of Wight would like to say a massive heartfelt thank you to all of you for your custom and friendship over the years.

"Stay safe, best wishes and warmest regards."

Asos has confirmed it has completed the purchase of the Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge and HIIT brands.

The deal is worth £295 million.

The online fashion retailer says it will take on around 300 employees - but the agreement does not include any stores.

The closure of Topshop Topman is yet another blow to the Island's high streets.

As Isle of Wight Radio reported in October last year, a total of 41 shops have been left empty in Newport alone.

Peacocks, Ponden Homes Interior and Edinburgh Woollen Mill have also been hit by closures.
