Wight Sharks Inline Hockey Team Officially Launches On The Isle Of Wight

A brand-new sporting club is making waves on the Isle of Wight, with the official launch of the Wight Sharks Inline Hockey Team.

Operating under the Isle of Wight Roller Hockey Association, the Wight Sharks have been established with the aim of growing inline hockey across the Island while creating opportunities for players, coaches, volunteers, supporters and local businesses to get involved.

The club says its launch marks the beginning of an ambitious journey to develop competitive inline hockey on the Isle of Wight and build a sustainable pathway for future generations.

As preparations get underway for the team's inaugural season, the Wight Sharks are actively recruiting senior players aged 16 and over, along with coaches who are passionate about helping develop the sport locally.

Whether players are returning to the game after time away, currently playing elsewhere, or completely new to inline hockey, the club is encouraging anyone interested to get in touch.

Alongside building a strong senior programme, plans are already in place to introduce youth teams and junior development pathways in the future.

The club hopes to provide young people across the Isle of Wight with opportunities to experience the teamwork, fitness and life skills that come with playing inline hockey.

Community engagement will also play a key role in the club's development.

The Wight Sharks are offering visits to schools, youth organisations and community groups across the Island to introduce young people to the sport and explain how they can get involved.

The Sharks say sponsorship packages have been designed to provide valuable exposure for businesses while helping support the growth of a new community-focused sporting organisation.
