Strings To Host Two Everywhere At Once Festival Shows As UK's Biggest Grassroots Music Weekend Comes To The Isle Of Wight

The Isle of Wight is set to play its part in what organisers are calling the UK's biggest-ever grassroots music festival.

More than 400 venues across the country will take part in Everywhere At Once, a nationwide live music weekend organised by Music Venue Trust and supported by The National Lottery, taking place from 26-28 June.

As part of the event, Newport's Strings Bar & Venue will host two special performances.

Ultimate Coldplay will take to the stage on Friday 26 June, while Levellers frontman Mark Chadwick will perform at the venue on Sunday 28 June.

The nationwide festival will see more than 2,000 artists perform in grassroots venues, celebrating the role independent music spaces play in supporting artists and local communities.

New names added to the festival line-up include Fatboy Slim, Glenn Tilbrook, Lucy Spraggan, Gene, D Double E, P Money and Westside Cowboy, joining previously announced acts Becky Hill, Tinie Tempah, Rizzle Kicks, The Lathums, The Divine Comedy and many more.

Music Venue Trust says the event aims to bring the spirit of festival season directly into grassroots venues, while highlighting the importance of the UK's independent live music network.

Fatboy Slim said grassroots venues are where "music scenes really begin", adding that they are vital for both culture and local communities.

The festival follows the success of the Revive Live initiative, which helped music venues recover following the Covid pandemic.

Alongside live performances, audiences will be able to support charities including War Child, Nordoff and Robbins, Help Musicians and Teenage Cancer Trust through donations made when purchasing tickets.
