Island residents are being asked to give their views on proposed changes to the Isle of Wight Council's Housing Allocations Policy.

The policy sets out who can join the housing register, how applications are assessed and how priority is decided when social housing becomes available.

The council says the proposed changes are intended to ensure the system remains fair and reflects current housing needs, while improving access for people facing barriers to finding suitable accommodation.

The public consultation is open until midnight on September 25, with residents, housing providers and community groups all encouraged to take part.

Feedback will be reviewed before a revised policy is considered through the council's decision-making process. If approved, the updated Housing Allocations Policy would come into effect later this year.
