A motorcyclist was injured following a road traffic collision on the outskirts of Ryde yesterday (Wednesday, 6 January).
Emergency services were called to Calthorpe Road, between Appley and Pondwell, after reports that a rider had come off their motorcycle.
Police attended the scene alongside paramedics, who provided treatment to the rider of a green Kawasaki.
It is understood the motorcyclist lost control while negotiating a bend in the road before colliding with a tree.
No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the incident.
An ambulance later arrived at the scene and the injured rider was taken to St Mary’s Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
Calthorpe Road remained open throughout, with traffic managed by police while emergency crews dealt with the incident.
