The Isle of Wight Crematorium has been recognised with a prestigious Green Flag Award, celebrating the quality of its grounds and green spaces.

The internationally recognised award, managed by Keep Britain Tidy, recognises some of the UK's best-managed parks and green spaces.

Set within 10 acres of landscaped gardens, ancient woodland and wildflower habitats, the crematorium provides a peaceful place for remembrance while supporting local wildlife.

The Isle of Wight Council said the award reflects the dedication of its bereavement services team, which maintains the grounds throughout the year.

Registration and bereavement services manager Janice Lord said the crematorium is "much more than a place of remembrance", describing it as a cherished green space offering comfort and reflection for Island families while protecting biodiversity.
