Food and drink will be firmly on the menu at this year’s Isle of Wight Literary Festival, taking place in Cowes from 8 to 11 October.

TV chef and campaigner Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall will discuss his latest book and his passion for healthy, sustainable food.

Other food writers include Tim Lang, who will explore the future of Britain’s food supply, and former Good Food Guide editor Andrew Turvil, whose latest book looks back at the changing restaurant scene of the 1990s.

The LitFeast Marquee, sponsored by HTP Apprenticeship College, will feature demonstrations from Michelin-starred chef Chris Galvin, former Great British Bake Off finalist Miranda Gore Browne and French pâtissier Eric Lanlard.

Chris Galvin will demonstrate a venison, quince and chestnut dish, Miranda Gore Browne will share her baking expertise, and Eric Lanlard will make a raspberry and chocolate tart.

There will also be plenty for drinks enthusiasts, with wine expert Helen McGinn hosting a tasting at Northwood House on the opening night.

Whisky writer Ian Buxton will discuss Scottish single malts in his talk Whiskies Galore, accompanied by a whisky tasting.

Full festival details and ticket information are available at the Isle of Wight Literary Festival website.
