Cyclists Invited To Explore The Island In New Isle Of Wight Joyride Event

Cyclists are being invited to experience some of the Isle of Wight's most spectacular roads as part of a new one-day cycling event taking place next month.

The Isle of Wight Joyride will be held on Sunday 23rd August, giving riders the chance to enjoy a choice of three scenic routes while taking in the Island's coastal roads and countryside.

The day begins with the 8am ferry from Southampton to Cowes, followed by breakfast at Northwood House before participants set off on their chosen ride.

Cyclists can choose from routes of 85km, 110km or 120km, each designed to showcase different parts of the Island.

Along the way there will be two coffee stops, while riders can also test themselves on the 1988 TT Strava Challenge – an 8.8km stretch of smooth tarmac along the iconic Military Road.

The event finishes at Cowes Yacht Haven, where participants will enjoy a post-ride meal at the Pontoon View restaurant overlooking the harbour before catching the 6.30pm ferry back to Southampton.

Each rider will also receive a goody bag worth £95.

Places cost £145 per person and include ferry travel, breakfast, refreshments, the post-ride meal and the goody bag.
