England Held To Draw In Poland

England have drawn 1-1 away to Poland in their re-scheduled World Cup qualifier in Warsaw.

Despite coming under pressure for most of the first-half, England went in front through Wayne Rooney who headed in Steven Gerrard's corner just past the half-hour mark.

But on a heavy pitch Roy Hodgson's side struggled to create more opportunities in the second half.

Poland equalised with 21-minutes remaining when Joe Hart failed to claim a corner and Kamil Glik rose above Jolean Lescott to make it 1-1.

The result means England have a one-point lead over second placed Montenegro at the top of Group H but have played a game more than both sides below them, with Poland in third.

The original fixture was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch on Tuesday night, which forced the kick off time to be moved forward by twenty hours.
