Suspect Arrested At Actress Miley Cyrus' Home

A man with a pair of scissors has been arrested after apparently trying to force his way into Miley Cyrus' Los Angeles home.

LAPD Lieutenant Brian Wendling said employees inside the house in the Studio City area had called police at around 4am on Saturday.

They said the man had come to the door claiming to be a friend of the 19-year-old singer-actress.

LT Wendling said the suspect then repeatedly threw himself against an outside wall as if he was trying to break into the house. Cyrus was not home at the time.

The man, who was not formally identified, was arrested after officers saw him jump behind some bushes. He was carrying a pair of scissors.

LT Wendling said charges had not yet been filed against the man.

A video of the incident was posted on celebrity news website TMZ.

Two police officers approach the property and tell the man: "Police department - stand up and put your hands in the air.

"Keep your hands up (and) walk towards us."

The suspect replies: "Yes sir," and is then handcuffed.

He was wearing a large heart symbol around his neck and admitted he had the scissors when he was asked if he was carrying a weapon.

Cyrus achieved wide fame for her role as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel sitcom Hannah Montana.

Since her Disney days she has cultivated a more adult image, filming The Last Song in 2010, a coming-of-age drama that included her single Party in the USA.

Cyrus was last seen in public at the MTV Video Music Awards on Thursday where she was sporting a new short haircut.

When she was asked why everyone making such a fuss about it, she replied: "Because they are too scared to cut their hair off.

"I am giving face, people. Giving face. That's all I want to do is to give this."
