Premier League Round Up

Sun, 19 August 2012 3:40PM

Chelsea made a winning start to their Premier League campaign with a 2-0 win away against Wigan.

The Champions League winners made a great start with two goals in the first seven minutes.

Premier League debutant Eden Hazard played a starring role, with Hazard setting up full-back Branislav Ivanovic for the first goal.

He turned Wigan's Ivan Ramis, rather too easily in midfield and played a perfect ball through for the onrushing Ivanovic.

Wigan and Ramis' afternoon soon got worse as the defender fouled Hazard in the penalty area. The penalty was converted by Frank Lampard.

Wigan dominated much of the rest of the game and pressed hard for a goal but could not manage to score.
