Twitter Stalker's Death Threats For Juno Star

Sun, 05 August 2012 2:37PM

Juno star Ellen Page is being terrorised on Twitter by a crazed fan who has threatened to kill her, it has been reported.

The Canadian star has apparently asked Los Angeles Police Department to investigate.

Celebrity gossip website TMZ says that LAPD recently sent a search warrant to the micro-blogging site, demanding information regarding two Twitter accounts.

The accounts are believed to be associated with an individual threatening the actress.

According to the warrant, the two accounts sent Ellen multiple messages in June, with one saying: "I'm going to murder Ellen Page. She's dead."

Another said: "Ellen Page if you continue to date Alexander (Skarsgard) I will K-1-L-L you in public in the next year ... be it in a club, at a game, in a restaurant, or when you're signing autographs."

The tweets have since been removed.

According to police, the threats also coincided with a "creepy" telephone call received by the non-profit organisation that organises the LA Film Festival.

Page's new movie, Woody Allen's To Rome With Love, premiered at the festival on June 14.

Police said the caller promised to go to the festival and "kill Page".

Although the premiere passed without incident, the investigation is still on-going, TMZ reported.

Page, 25, received Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations for Best Actress, for her role in the film Juno in which she starred as a teenager confronting an unplanned pregnancy.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, her screen acting career began in 1997, aged 10, in the television movie Pit Pony, which later spun off into a television series.

Other roles followed until 10 years later she starred in the box office hit Juno.

As well as To Rome With Love she has this year voiced a character in Family Guy and has recently finished filming The East.

In that film she stars as a woman who infiltrates an anarchist group, only to find herself falling for its leader (Skarsgard).

She also plays the lead role of Jodie Holmes in David Cage's PlayStation 3 game, Beyond: Two Souls.
