Didier Drogba has carried the Olympic torch through the latest stage of it's tour in Swindon.
Chelsea's Champions League hero received the flame from Sally Ann-Brookes of Cheltenham and after posing for some photographs ran 300 metres before handing the flame on.
Just a day after the Ivory Coast international confirmed he'd be leaving Chelsea this summer he was greeted by thousands of fans as the torch reached Wharf Green in Swindon Town Centre.
He said: "To carry the Olympic torch is, I don't know if there are enough words to describe it."
"My only disappointment is that I can't do the Olympic Games."
Meanwhile, a Shanghai Shenhua official has said he is confident of securing a move to re-unite Drogba with his former Chelsea team-mate Nicholas Anelka in China.
The club's owner owner Zhu Jun is quoted as saying in the Oriental Sports Daily: "As of now, Shenhua's negotiations with Drogba are continuing just as planned."
