Omar is the new sound of your Friday and Saturday evenings – kicking off your weekend in his own style.

Born and bred on the Island, Omar Lakhssassi lives in Godshill with his lovely wife Kelly and has been at Isle of Wight Radio since March 2009.

Omar has been DJing in clubs locally, nationally and internationally for around 10 years now so we guess he has got the necessary experience. One of his favourite moments is playing the Isle of Wight Festival billed against Neil Young!

Most bizarre DJ moment? Rocking the wheels of steel in wellies and a mac at Bestival...

He has our favourite claim to fame and it is that his Dad appeared in the Peter Ustinov film 'One Of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing' – look it up on the web...

Omar loves living on the Island, and the strong sense of community. In January 2010, Omar got a World Exclusive, securing an interview with Holly Hayes who's Twilight Star pictures made headlines across the world!
