NEWPORT MATCH LEAGUE LEADERS
Saturday, January 30th 2010 17:50

Newport held top-of-the-table Bemerton Heath Harlequins to a goal-less draw on an important day of local football.
The Port ended the Harlequins six game winning streak, and earned a point which means they stay tenth in the Wessex Premier League.
At the other end of the table, Cowes Sports missed the chance to escape the relegation zone.
The Yachtsmen remain bottom of the league, after a 2-2 draw with fellow strugglers, Alton Town.
Meanwhile, Brading Town had the chance to make it three wins in a row as they travelled to Bournemouth.
They were narrowly beaten 1-0 by a Poppies side which is pushing for promotion.
In the Wessex League Division One, East Cowes Vics fell to 16th, after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Warminster Town.
