Kylie Minogue All The LoversScottish Islands MP Joins the One Wight Campaign.

"Islands are special and shouldn't be lumped in with the mainland" - that's according to the MP for the Outer Hebrides who has joined the One Wight Campaign.
Scottish MP Angus McNeil is the latest political figure to back the campaign to stop the Isle of Wight from being split up into different constituencies, with one part or parts sharing an MP with the mainland.
Mr McNeil is the Scottish National Party MP for the Western Isles. His constituency was given protection and won't be involved in the Deputy PM's shake-up of boundaries.
Speaking to Isle of Wight Radio, he says he has great sympathy for One Wight campaigners, who are fighting to keep the Island as one constituency: "I can understand why people on the Isle of Wight feel differently and why they want to maintain their identity, and not be lost and perhaps mis-serviced by the mainland who perhaps have different concerns and might view the Island as a bolt on or an add on."
Although the proposals aren't yet detailed, the worst case could see the Island divided into three parts with each potentially dominated by mainland constituencies. The Scottish MP says : "The Island needs its own voice€ and hopes Nick Clegg will listen to this cross party campaign
Thousands have already signed the One Wight petition and there's still time to add your voice.
