Wightlink will be running a service to provide later foot passenger services between Portsmouth Harbour and Ryde Pier Head in December.
The cross-Solent operator will be using Blue Funnel's catamaran to allow Isle of Wight residents and mainland customers to take advantage of later crossings in the run-up to Christmas.
Earlier this month, Wightlink CEO Keith Greenfield, revealed to Isle of Wight Radio that later services WOULD be returning, but couldn't confirm a date.
The nine later services - which will take 30 minutes - will start on Friday, December 9.

These services will be operated by Blue Funnel catamarans.
