Wightlink Inspection Causes Further Delays

Wightlink Inspection Causes Further Delays
Thu, 12 January 2012 11:19AM

Wightlink's Yarmouth-Lymington service was further delayed yesterday(Wednesday) due to a spot inspection and generator trouble.

The route has been running with delays due to berth works at Lymington. Passengers are being made to wait at Lymington for up to 20mins before they can board or disembark the vessel due to certain tide levels making it impossible to properly berth. The works will continue until the 29th March.

Yesterday evening passengers were hit by double delays after a spot inspection from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency held back the 17:00 sailing for 45mins, it was followed by the 18;00 crossing being delayed for 1hour after the generator blew.

Wightlink has apologised for the inconvenience caused to customers.
