GB Olympic hopeful Lesley Owusu has been meeting students on the Isle of Wight.

GB Olympic hopeful Lesley Owusu has been meeting students on the Isle of Wight.

This lunchtime (Tuesday) Lesley Owusu, who is team GB’s 400m sprint hopeful for the London 2012 Olympic Games, visited Hunnyhill Primary School.

Lesley also visited Ryde Academy.

Both schools have been taking part in the London 2012 Education Programme –  they Get Set Network.

The schools will also be receiving tickets to attend London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games events.  Ryde Academy as a secondary school will receive 6 tickets and Hunnyhill as a Primary will receive 3 tickets.

Lesley talked to pupils at Ryde Academy about how she is training ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games and at Hunnyhill she participated in an assembly and gave out awards to pupils for sport.

Ryde and Hunnyhill are 2 of 19 schools on the Island that have joined the London 2012 Get Set Network and will receive tickets to Olympic and Paralympic events.
