Lightning Leaves Family Homeless For Six Months

Lightning Leaves Family Homeless For Six Months
By Emily Wells Thu, 19 April 2012 2:12PM

A Ryde family are facing six months living in a mobile home in their garden after their house was destroyed by a lightening strike.

The roof of Aldermoor Farmhouse moved to two inches when it was hit by lightning in last weeks storms. Plasterboard and light switches were blown off the walls according to owner Vav Simon who's been forced to move into temporary accommodation for the next six months.

Vav's daughter was inside the house when lightning struck the roof of her room, but thankfully she escaped shocked but unscathed.

"We were really, really lucky no-one was injured, which is actually quite amazing when you see the damage to the house"
