Guests Evacuated From Hotel

Guests staying at the Sandown Hotel on Culver Parade were evacuated from the premises this morning (Thursday).

Firefighters were called to the hotel at 09:39 following reports of smoke coming from the lift shaft.

Fire crews from Sandown and Ryde attended the scene.

It was confirmed at 10:45 that a piece of burnt toast caused the fire alarms to sound.
