Four Babies leapt into 2012 on the 29th February at St Mary’s Hospital in Newport.
First to arrive was a home birth. Alexander was born at 00.38, weighing in at 6lb 11oz. His mum and dad, Lisa and Chris Lyon, live in Freshwater.
Second to arrive at 07:30hrs in the morning on 29th February was Savannah Taylor Corney, a daughter for Kerry and Jason Corney of Newport. Savannah was born at St Mary’s and weighed in at 7lb 14ozs.
Next to arrive at 10:27hrs, and was Drew, a son for Tiffany and Mark Catania of Newport. Drew weighed in at 8lb 4ozs.
Then, at 14.23hrs Aimee Rose, a daughter for Rachel and Thomas Waddell was born. Aimee Rose weighed 7lb 12ozs.
The fifth baby to be born at 16.32hrs was a daughter for Elizabeth and James Lake, weighing 6lbs 9ozs.
Former midwife and Chief Operating Officer for NHS Isle of Wight, Karen Baker said: "Congratulations to all four sets of parents on their new arrivals"
