The body found off the Isle of Wight on Thursday is that of a missing London sailor, police confirm.
The remains were located by a naval vessel off Sandown Bay on Thursday lunchtime, and RNLI crews from Bembridge were called to help recover the body to Portsmouth.
Dorset Police said it was made aware a body had been discovered and initial identification confirmed it is that of missing London man Hany Nabil Mustapha.
He was reported missing on Saturday 27th October 2012 after his boat was found unmanned off Grange Chine.
His yacht had left Poole Harbour at 10:05am on Saturday.
The family have been informed and formal identification hasn’t yet taken place.
