An African coin, a 1920s trinket box and other jewellery has been stolen from a Ryde property.
Police are appealing for information from anyone who has been offered the distinctive items, following the theft at an address in Dover Street between Monday, October 1, and Monday, October 8.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Andy Cooper of Isle of Wight CID said: "A one ounce gold South African Krugerrand coin and a silver plated 1920s trinket box with the letter "N" on top was reported stolen along with other jewellery.
Police would like to speak to anyone who has been offered a Krugerrand or silver plated jewellery box in recent weeks." A 56-year-old man from Ryde was arrested on Saturday, October 20, on suspicion of theft.
He is currently on bail until November 23, pending further enquiries.
